Lisa
Lady & DogThe art group I belong to had a guest speaker come in and critic member’s artwork. There were many paintings and he try to help us improve our work with his opinions.
I had just finish this painting so I brought in. He said it was a unique in that the same technique was used to paint the woman, the dog and the background. Most people have a technique that they use for faces another that they use animals and yet another for background or landscapes.

Lisa MarieMy niece and my sister had come to visit about dusk. Lisa sat at my feet and the setting sun lent a lovely glow to her face. I was enchanted and quickly snapped a photograph.

Jacob
The EngagementHe said he liked my work but he had an old black and white photograph that was really very special. It was of a couple his grandparents at their engagement party a long time ago and this was to be an anniversary gift. I question coloring and clothing but the necklace that she wore that was Everyone in the family knew the piece in detail, He was unable to get a hold of the necklace. He was adamant that it must be correct. I would paint from his description and he would tell what was wrong and I would try again. Five times I remove that piece but finally he said I got it. Everyone would recognize the necklace she wore in the painting as the necklace he had carved her as engagement present all those years ago.
JonThis older woman came to me in tears. She said people recommend me. Her son, Jon, had been killed in a motorcycle accident. She said if she was satified she would commission one for each of his three sibling. They loved the painting but nicked the idea of hanging one of their own to hang in the home.
When you have a large area that is black it tends to leave that space boring. Originally I painted his black motorcycle jacket with all these wonderful colors. You still recognized it as a black motorcycle jacket but it added such vibrancies and energy. Due to her age and it being her late son I thought she would go extremely realistic with out my interruptions,

Young Master Timothy
Mable GoldieMable was my father’s mother. She has always been my grandmother and that meant she was well - old. In Going through some old black and white photographs of my family, I found this one. I knew it was my grandmother immediately. She was beautiful! It turns out this was one of her engagement pictures. I assuming that a least one photograph taken that day was of her and my grandfather. I always got a kick out of her middle name “Goldie.” It sounds like a dance hall floozy. In truth in doing the family tree a number of her female ancestors had the first or second name as “Goldie.”
The KidsThey were pleased but it didn’t promote my portrait cliental. This restaurant was willing to let artist hang and sell their artwork from the restaurant. The owner requested that I do a portrait of there children and it would hang in the restaurant. People would see it and require how they could get theirs done. Well that was how it was suppose to work. The owner got a framed portrait of his children free of charged. Me, well I never heard from anyone not even one call to ask about prices, sizes of could I get it done my their deadline. That’s life.
Sandi and ScottEvery year the art group in Nashua NH had an art show at this particular mall the week end of Mother’s Day. For a number of years the Mall had a drawing with the winner would receive a framed portrait painting. Sandi was trying to get into modeling as was her boyfriend Scott. So she brought me two professional head shots they use in their portfolio. Her request that the two of them be in the painting and that they looked like they were snuggling.
Young Master TimothyI was always proud of my brother Tim. He was in the Army band in Germany among other things sent me a photograph of him in uniform leaning on tanks. Tanks. Well I started the painting not knowing what I was going to about the background. Sometimes it amazing what the universe will bring to us. My nephew had gone to Disneyland and he was showing me his photos. There it was a little German village.
